Dunwody White & Landon, P.A. is pleased to announce that Alfred J. Stashis, Jr., a shareholder in the Firm, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Mr. Stashis is one of approximately 125 Florida attorneys and 2,500 attorneys worldwide who have achieved this distinguished honor.
Attorneys are elected to ACTEC based on their reputation, skill, and substantial contributions to the field of trust and estate law by lecturing, writing, teaching, and participating in bar activities. To qualify, attorneys must have at least ten years’ experience in the active practice of trust and estate law.
Mr. Stashis is board certified in wills, trusts and estates by the Florida Bar. He serves clients in the Firm’s Naples, Palm Beach, and Miami offices. He focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning; estate and trust administration; federal income, estate, gift and generation skipping transfer (GST) taxation; planning for Florida domicile; planning for charitable contributions and foundations; and planning for distributions from IRAs and other qualified retirement plans.
Mr. Stashis holds an AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers, Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Trend, and Naples Illustrated.
Mr. Stashis is a member of the Florida Bar’s Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) Sections. He serves on the RPPTL Section’s Executive Council and on numerous RPPTL Section committees, including currently as Co-Chair of the IRA, Insurance & Employee Benefits Committee. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles and book chapters and speaks frequently to other professionals on trust and estate topics.
